Multi-Engine Rating

All multi-engine training will be completed in
        our Seneca II Turbo pictured above.

Transport Canada has set out the training guidelines and minimum requirements to qualify for a Multi-engine Class Rating - Aeroplane (CAR’s 421.38 (3)) as follows:

REQUIREMENTS FOR A MULTI-ENGINE CLASS RATING - AEROPLANE

1.    The applicant shall hold a valid Private Pilot Licence.
2.    The applicant shall hold a Category 3 Medical Certificate (424.04 (3)) valid for a Private Pilot Licence - Aeroplane.

Note: If the applicant intends to become a career pilot a Category 1 Medical Certificate should be applied for.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: GROUND SCHOOL

There are no ground school requirements for the multi rating.  

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: FLIGHT

An applicant for a multi-engine class rating shall complete a flight test to the standard outlined in the Flight Test Guide


SKILL REQUIREMENTS: FLIGHT TEST

The applicant must have a valid medical certificate and a letter of recommendation. An applicant shall successfully complete a flight test to the standard outlined in the Flight Test Standards – Multi-Engine Class Rating.
